Ditch 在俚语中有“逃课，逃学”的意思，这里是指“旷工”，例如：I didn’t want to go to work today, so I ditched it. 我今天不想去上班，就旷工了。

对于“爱管闲事的人”，人们首先想到的英文单词是gossip。但形容此人很“八卦”，是个“八婆/八公”，还得数nosey parker一词更传神。
Nosey parker一词是怎样来的呢？英国人鼻子(nose)大，无论窥探甚么事情，当然都是“鼻子先行”的了。所以，nosey或nosy就是“八卦”的意思，

mind有介意，注意，关心，留意，记住等含义。get mind of you，不难理解，就是久仰的意思。当然久仰也可以用I heard a lot about you.来表示，但这不如I get mind of you.地道。

惯用的说法是"Are you busy?"，但是死啃一种说法显然过于单一化，把眼界放广一点，对于同一个概念要有不同的变化。

punch in 是指上班打卡。
那么下班打卡呢？当然就是punch out了
